designs for strong minds is a progressive system of visual puzzles for enhancing cognition and improving mental agility. designs for strong minds differs from other lateral thinking programs in part because of its extensive use of visuals. the advantage of visual brain puzzles, as opposed to verbal, comes from the establishment of an identifiable structure and variations within that structure. this allows participants to rehearse the thinking process that enabled them to solve the initial brain puzzle. as the brain puzzles within a series become increasingly difficult, participants learn to juggle multiple variables and stretch their mental muscles
