- ANNOUNCEMENT: OpenRocket 24. 12 beta 1 is now available for download
Here is a bug I've just recently noticed in 23 09 and which isn't fixed in the beta On a Mac, if dark mode is enabled, printing the design info places a dark background behind a portion of the graphic of the rocket in the generated PDF (as shown below using the included example model rocket file) View attachment 684543
- Nose cone shapes. What are the pros and cons? - Rocketry Forum
Keep in mind though that it is hardly an altitude-optimized rocket to begin with If you care that much about the extra altitude, why build such a large and heavy rocket for that motor anyways It is just fine for what it is meant to do, and in that case, will probably make no measureable difference
- Moveable fins or canards for active stabilization?
The potential problem is someone uses it to deliver a "package" to some "destination" Not one of the hobby rocket fliers at a hobby rocket launch Geofencing won't prevent the former and might not be of much benefit to the latter A better approach than geofencing might be to provide primary and secondary landing zones

Eggfinders use 900MHz Hope RF modules for the GPS telemetry Work very well out to a few miles The optional 400MHz modules (Requires an FCC ham radio license) go 10's of miles and is only needed if rocket is going very high and expected to recover miles away
- Velocity off launch rail | Rocketry Forum - Model Rocketry Forums
What is a good velocity off launch rail to keep a rocket flying absolutely straight and have no tilt when it comes off the launch pad? I have a motor with a burn time of ~2 seconds with a rail time of 12 m s off a 1 m long rail, whereas another motor with ~0 8 seconds burn time gets 15 m s off
