I've started using speedos for swimming at my university's pool, beginning last week I've worn them at clothing optional beaches before, which was pretty anxiety inducing but, compared to the half of people wearing nothing, I was less anxious because those are spaces were it's more socially acceptable to wear them

I was wearing a cheap off-brand speedo type suit that had seen a long history of pool chlorine and washing (Back then, you could get speedo-type suits even at a K-mart!) The other guys were also in speedos, and the girls were in bikinis As was typical of parties back then, there was plenty of alcohol available

A piece of practical advise I found helpful: Just start wearing speedos around your house or in your own privacy (assuming its warm enough to do so!) You get used to having them on and convince yourself its no big deal In my experience this is the most important thing about speedo wear: feeling confident

I have been to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic It was at an all inclusive resort There were several men wearing speedo, myself included In fact, I spent nearly the entire time there in just my speedo Needless to say it was a great week Closer to home, Ogunquit beach in Maine USA is speedo friendly

You might get reactions But after that, if you keep wearing speedos, they will get used to it and won't say anything anymore I've worn speedos around my immediate family (wife and kids) for years They are so used to it that they never say anything, even though I'm usually the only person at the pool beach in a speedo
