My daughter’s original EQB scholarship was 33k per year, and this brings it up to 38k per year So, if by chance, anyone is still considering Sewanee at this 11th hour (or as a data point for any class of 2030 folks that are reading this in the future) know that Sewanee, at least in this instance, is amenable to offering additional merit
- USC reduced National Merit Finalist Scholarship to FLAT 20K year
This is a decrease of about 15K per year right now (previously half tuition) Because the amount is now a flat rate, it will also become less valuable as tuition increases (the scholarship used to scale with tuition) Appears to have been updated December 19th 2024-25 Year: 20K year 2023-24 Year: 34,952 year + 3K year (university scholarship) It’s unclear whether the 3K university

Most of the top D3 schools do not offer merit, only need-based aid So, Amherst, Williams, and all of the NESCAC schools other than Conn Coll and Trinity do not give merit aid Haverford, Swarthmore, Vassar, Pomona, Wellesley do not offer merit aid I’m not familiar with the UAA schools like Chicago, NYU, Brandeis etc so someone else can

I (1560 SAT, around 4 3 weighted GPA at a school with only 10 APs) been accepted into Chapman for a music BM degree with a $30K Provost’s merit scholarship + need based aid Chapman is one of my top choices, but the current cost of the program is a bit prohibitive, and I’ve seen multiple people on here receive additional merit aid by contacting the admissions team and writing

I actually had a meeting with my financial aid advisor this morning, but I did what you suggested My FAA is going to reach out to admissions and ask about increasing my merit aid, which she said would likely be more possible than increasing need-based as I received more merit from a peer institution and thus there’s a precedent
